Breast Surgery
Breast procedures are the most commonly discussed cosmetic treatments in the press, on television and with our clients. Many women are conscious of the size and shape of their breasts.
Whether you think your breasts are too large, too small or not as firm as you would like, they can be a source of great embarrassment, making you feel less feminine and therefore less attractive.
It is not surprising then, that breast surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures. Our skilled surgeons have many years of experience in reshaping the breasts to give them a completely natural Iooking appearance.
Breast Enlargement
An incision, approximately five centimetres long, may be made in the crease of the underside of the breast, the armpit or lower edge of the areola. Most commonly this will be in the crease of the breast; however, your surgeon will advise you on the most appropriate area for yourself.
Your size and shape will determine the outcome of the position of the implant and will be discussed fully during the consultation with your surgeon. There are two types of implant available - silicone and saline. Your surgeon will advise you on the most appropriate one for you.
Breast Reduction
The operation for breast reduction involves the removal of excess skin, fat and breast tissue to create a new size and shape, and the repositioning of your nipple and areola.
The operation involves reducing the amount of breast tissue, whilst uplifting the breast tissue at the same time. In order to achieve the desired outcome the surgeon will need to move the nipple upwards.
The resulting scars will be permanently visible - in the early months they will be pink but gradually fade to white lines and scar tissue. Patients who have undergone breast reduction often say that they are so happy with the results that the scarring becomes of less significance.
After ten days, when the swelling and bruising had reduced, the bandages were removed.
I was thrillied. My breasts were smaller, perkier and more manageable. I almost
didn't t recognise myself.
Now my breasts were more in proportion to my size, you
could really see my new figure. The scars were minimal too. The results were even
better than I'd hoped. I went down ten cup sizes overnight!
Breast Uplift & Reshaping (Mastopexy)
Small incisions are made to reposition the nipple and areola higher on the breast, with excess skin removed from below. To achieve the lift that is required for this operation, loose skin is removed, whilst at the same time, the nipple is repositioned centrally on the new, now firmer breast.
(If there is only a small amount of breast tissue present, implants can be inserted during the surgery to improve size at the same time.)
