What is Pigmentation?

Skin pigmentation disorders are conditions that cause the skin to appear lighter or darker than normal, or blotchy and discoloured. People of all races have skin pigmentation disorders. Some disorders, like albinism (which affects one out of every 17,000 people) are rare. Others, such as age spots, are very common.

Skin pigmentation disorders occur because the body produces either too much or too little melanin, a pigment that creates hair, skin, and eye colour. Melanin protects the body by absorbing ultraviolet light.

Aged skin with actinic damage due to solar exposure, hyperchromic spots and in general, melanic imperfections, are common problems nowadays. Only with an effective treatment, a treatment that influences the production of melanin (melanogenesis), it is possible to remove spots and imperfections, giving back to the skin brightness and smoothness.

What is Amelan?

Amelan is the latest cream in the treatment of the stubborn and debilitating skin condition melasma. The cause of this condition is unknown, but it is thought to be due to hormonal imbalances, and exacerbated be exposure to UV light.

What You Can Expect?

The skin begins to get better from a week after the beginning of the treatment. Depending on the type of the skin, the de-pigmentation process can be more or less rapid. In dark skin (phototypes IV and V), the spot may disappear after 8 or 10 days, if the patient applies AMELAN M at home three times a day.

In 99% of the cases the spot disappears up to 95%. If the treatment of maintenance with AMELAN M is interrupted, the spot will appear again because the treatment does not annul the tendency, it just blocks melanin production.

Can I wear Make-up?

The following day after the beginning of the treatment, you can wear make-up without problems.
