What is Photo-Rejuvenation?
Photo-Rejuvenation IPL™ is a non-invasive treatment that erases skin damage without disruption of the skin's surface, hence no "downtime".
Photo Rejuvenation is a cosmetic treatment designed to produce younger and healthier looking skin. As most of us age, we begin to see visible signs of sun damage, time, and lifestyle choices appearing in our complexion.
This aged look may include freckles, Rosacea, wrinkles, broken capillaries, dark spots, blotchy skin colour, redness of the face and neck, enlarged pore size and uneven pigmentation.
What Is Intense Pulsed Light?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL ™) is the gold standard for photo rejuvenation. This FDA-cleared, patented technology offers a safe non-invasive solution that can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type.
IPL provides dramatic results for a variety of benign conditions, including age spots, sun-induced freckles, symptoms of rosacea, birthmarks, unsightly veins, acne scarring and other blemishes — even unwanted hair.
No technology provides the long-term improvement of complexion and texture of the IPL Photo-rejuvenation program.
The IPL Photofacial is fantastic. It took years off my face. My face looks like I’ve never been in the sun. All of the freckles and sun spots are gone. As for the staff, everyone is very knowledgeable and professional.
What Conditions Can Photo-Rejuvenation Treat?
While there are lasers that treat red spots, other lasers that treat browns, and others yet that are used for resurfacing facial skin.
Photo-Rejuvenation can simultaneously treat a wide range of facial concerns safely and effectively.Broken
capillaries, skin discolouration, age spots, freckles, mottled pigmentation and the symptoms of rosacea can all be treated quickly and effectively.
IPL technology improves both the superficial and deeper skin layers, rejuvenating the skin at the same time, delivering beneficial thermal energy to deep tissue. After a
series of treatments, you can see a significant reduction of unwanted pigmentation and the appearance of smoother, revitalised skin. The same treatment can be used effectively on the neck, chest and the hands.
How Does Photo-Rejuvenation Work?
IPL treats the damaged superficial layer of the skin, while delivering thermal energy to deeper tissue. Clinical studies are now underway to quantify the effect this energy has on collagen production, which helps firm and tighten the skin.
Red blemishes from broken blood vessels and brown spots of pigment from sun damage respond to intense Pulsed Light. The light is changed to heat energy as it reaches to the level of the collagen beneath the skin surface.
How Is The Photorejuvenation Procedure Performed?
A cold gel is usually applied to the area to be treated and you may also be given dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light. The smooth glass surface of the IPL hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied.
You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a small rubber band. An anaesthetic cream may be used, but this is seldom required.
Treatment is generally administered in a series of procedures that provides excellent long term results, minimal adverse effects and high satisfaction.
Each treatment takes about twenty minutes.
Why Are Multiple Treatments Necessary?
Depending on the number of conditions you are treating and the severity of the individual problem. A series of five or six treatment sessions may be recommended. You can return to work the same day and resume all your regular activities.
By dividing the treatment into several treatments, the procedure provides gradual improvement with very low risk and it preserves the wonderful "no downtime" feature that people appreciate so much.
What You Can expect?
Within days, you will see a stunning improvement that can last up to 4 months. Results may vary. If you do not continue treatments, the frown lines between your brows will gradually look like they did before treatment.
